01 — The house

Two treatment rooms and a small bathhouse. Nine therapists on a salary, nobody on commission, never more than twelve people in the water. That is the whole studio — and it is meant to be.

Arrive

Through the arch into the old framer's yard. Tea, a robe, and fifteen minutes in which nothing is expected of you.

Breathe

Your therapist asks what you want from the hour: the pressure, oil or none, talk or silence. Then the door closes.

06 — Why it is small

Marguerite Fen

Founder · massage therapist
I spent fourteen years in hotel spas, and the hardest part of the job was never the work. It was the target — so many products sold, so many upgrades a shift. Stillpoint started in 2017 with one room in the old framer's yard and a single rule: nobody here earns more for selling you something. There are two treatment rooms and a small bathhouse now, nine therapists on a salary, and still only twelve people in the water at once.
07 — The people you would meet

Nine of them. Ask for anyone by name.

All employed rather than renting a room. None on commission.

08 — Afterwards
It was the first time anyone asked what I wanted from the hour, not which of four names I'd like.
Fiona Brandt, Ninety minutes
She told me the expensive thing I'd been using did nothing. Then she didn't sell me anything else.
Aziz Rahmani, Sixty-minute facial
Saturday afternoon, expecting a scrum. I had the courtyard to myself for twenty minutes.
