A woman in a long undyed wool coat walks down a steep cobbled Porto street, blue azulejo tiles and the river behind

Forty of each, then it stops.

Two collections a year, cut and sewn by eleven people on one floor in Porto. Nothing here is made to be replaced next season.

01 The house

We make twenty-two pieces, forty of each, and then we stop. Eleven of them are re-cuts of things we had already made — improved where we had learned something, left alone where we had not. Nothing here is designed to be replaced next season.

One that changes. One that doesn't.

Nine pieces, always available
The nine things we make every year, unchanged unless we learn something. No season, no lookbook, no reason to hurry.

05 The atelier

Nine days, eleven people.

Every run is made on one floor in Porto, from cloth out of four mills we have used since 2019.

  • Hands cutting undyed cream wool with heavy tailor's shears along chalk lines, paper patterns and a tape measure

    Cutting

    Days one and two

Forty of each piece, cut by hand from paper patterns — one for each of the six sizes, each size cut on three different bodies.

  • A machinist sews a slate-blue wool seam at an old sewing machine beside a tall sunlit atelier window

    Sewing

    Days three to seven

Each piece is sewn through from the first seam to the last, on the same floor where it was cut.

  • A seamstress in glasses pins the shoulder of a cream wool coat on the model, a tall mirror beside them

    Fitting

    Day eight

Every size is tried on before the run is finished. Where it pulls, the pattern changes, and the change is written down.

  • A steam iron presses a folded cream wool coat beside kraft-paper boxes tied with blank labels

    Finishing

    Day nine

Pressed, labelled with the run and the year, folded and boxed for nineteen shops.

06 Deliberately this size

Small on purpose.

Every one of these is a decision, not a stage we are passing through.
